BiuBiu again-- Sines dress!

I've made a lot of clothing purchases over the past few months (starting when this blog was just an  idea), but I had intended to put in a few non-clothing-review posts before doing another bunch of them. But, I know there's a lot of interest in the busty community about this dress, and I had already taken pictures, so I might as well post about it. I wore this dress for several hours before taking pictures, and had a lot of cat-lap time, so I apologize if you can see fur on the dress in some of the pictures.

I purchased Sines in the navy color! I chose that color because I had just gotten the teal dress from Boosaurus, and I don't need two teal dresses (fushcia is not a great color for me, so I didn't even consider that option). I noticed that the model that normally wears the same size as me, Sylvia, was wearing a 38B/BB instead of her/ my normal 36B/BB. So, I asked BiuBiu if I should order a size up to get a similar fit. I was too impatient to wait for a reply and decided to order the 38B/BB, since I'd rather it be a touch too loose than too tight. (They did recommend I order 36B/BB, though-- Sylvia is wearing a larger size because they are on vacation and I guess she may have gained a pound or two... I'm glad I didn't, because it would have fit differently than I would probably like).

The material on this dress feels really nice to me-- very smooth, but with a nice substantial weight to it (92% cotton/ 8% spandex). At 5'3" (160 cm), it hits me right at the knee. It feels durable and comfortable to me-- the smoothness of the material feels pleasantly cool when I put on the dress.

I'm wearing this with my blue Freya Deco, because I thought the similar color would help to disguise if a bra strap slipped out. That said, I found the straps on this were well placed to hide my straps, possibly since the clasps on the straps are rigid-- I thought this worked slightly better than the "Duplicitious" tuba shirt from Urkye, at hiding bra straps, at least where the tubes pull in the strap. The silver clasps are plastic, not metal, so there's no cause for concern if you have a nickel allergy (I do!).

The cleavage in this dress is pretty noticeable, and I did need to do regular "is my cleavage still appropriate" checks. I think I would get the BB/BBB next time, to see if that provides slightly more coverage since I like to be a touch more modest. That said, I'm definitely keeping it-- it's not a huge issue or that really bothers me about this dress. I might put a stitch or two into the neckline to prevent it from plunging quite so low-- it's a modification that will take at most a minute or two, and one that I already have planned for one of my more business apparel BiuBiu shirts that I haven't reviewed yet.

This dress is designed, in my opinion, for women with a long torso-- longer than mine for sure (I have a long-ish torso for my height, but my torso is overall on the short-average side). You can see in the back and side pictures that I have some wrinkling on my back, similar to what we saw in Boosaurus' pictures with the Turkus dress.

That said, though I don't think it's designed for a body with my torso length, I do think it's very, very flattering in addition to comfortable.

My suggestion, if you have a shorter torso or have a more sharply curved hip/butt area, that you order a size up, like I did. This dress flares out beautifully at the hips, but since I'm a bit shorter in torso, my hips are a bit above the area where it flares to accommodate the hips and butt, and therefore it's a little more clingy in that area-- which was helped significantly by ordering a size up. The waist is a little larger than I am, but not so much larger that it hides my waist-- a small enough margin that it could just be called "sizing ease."

It's also very easy to dress up-- just adding a simple necklace (I'd recommend a white metal chain, to coordinate with the silver-tone clasps) instantly makes this feel more formal-- fine for a champagne brunch or a nice dinner, in my opinion.

I just purchased a shrug from Dots ($7, on clearance-- but they were only $10 regular price), which I thought looked very nice with the dress, that can add a little extra shoulder coverage if you don't want to expose your upper arms.
To sum up, I think this would be an amazing summer dress for women with longer torsos! I'd recommend it for shorter torsos as well, but I'd recommend ordering a size up unless you are comfortable with the dress being very form fitting around your hip/ butt/ lower stomach area. The material is cool, and the design very breezy-- and it's long and wide enough in the skirt that I can sit Indian style in this dress without showing too much thigh or worse (!)-- a rare, and valued trait in a knee-length dress for me.

I'll be back soon with more reviews for my latest (and last for a few months) BiuBiu order (this was the only dress I ordered, but I did get more summer-appropriate tops this time!). I also have a post planned with some recent second-hand finds-- a great way to build up a wardrobe on a budget. Thanks for reading!

Edited to Add: I was just discussing this dress with a friend who has the Fuchsia version of this dress, and she says the material is thinner and needs a slip underneath. The Fuchsia Sines is made of a material that is 96% viscose and 4% spandex (instead of 92% cotton/ 8% spandex, like the Navy and Teal versions), with material that is probably more like the Messina (that I reviewed here), and is probably a bit more clingy in fit, and thinner material. Good information, depending on your desired fit, so I thought I'd share!
